Black magic

So last week my trusted wallet gave up on life. The coin zipper snapped and for some good hour I thought, 'its fine, its fine, I can still use it' but now I have come to terms that I do need a new wallet. I am not a bag/wallet lady - especially wallets, because I think they look all the same - so the idea of shopping for a new wallet just turns me off... but after a couple of minutes of digging through the net, I found the wallet that I want in YSL Belle Du Jour in black, as pictured above. I love how it is so simple but oh-so luxurious. no big fat label logo prints necessary. The price tag will definitely hurt, considering that I'm a cheap arse and its quite a stack of dollar for such a small thing, but this wallet is going to pay itself if I use it everyday for the next 2 years, which is more than likely.

Now off to find somewhere that stocks this baby..

Soundwave

Is there anyone reading my blog going to Soundwave in summer 2013?

When a colleague at work read out to me (well us in the paraplanning corner) the headlines of next year's Soundwave, I nearly squealed with joy. I'm not the biggest fan of Metallica but I loved Linkin Park, Blink 182 and Sum 41 in my teenage years. So I'm very excited and I've bought the ticket for it on pre-sale which started on wednesday this week. The mr is coming with me - of course- which will be very exciting.

I've started to re-listen to songs from bands that's going to be playing so I can sing along (duh) still have 6 months to go! I've also thought about what to wear on the day. My last festival was Big Day Out 2010 I think, the one where Muse is headlining, and it was boobs, fluoros and short shorts everywhere.

Nooooo. Its basically Jersey shore in Homebush bay. Dressing like that is not an option for me; call me uncool but leaving your boobies hanging and bum cheeks showing is not awesome.

Since Soundwave is a rock-oriented festival so I guess black is the uniform but I am not keen on wearing black in a 40'c sun. I'm liking these looks:

I like the idea of white sleeveless tee and funky shorts plus high top converse shoes. I'm liking the second one with dresses too.

Now this is perfect. dainty white lace dress (I'll probably get black though.. dont want my pretty white dress to be dirty!)

la garconne

Some inspiration from La Garconne. Not sure how but they always manage to use the simplest items to look chic... I am so drawn to this simplistic style at the moment, it's just so much easier to throw some basic pieces together knowing that they'll look good whichever pieces that you put on. So comfortable as well.
I'm toying with the idea of flower pants as well. Miranda Kerr looks so good in these two:

They have started popping up everywhere but I'm not sure if I should get a pair. They look like something that I'm gonna wear once only (yeah like that maroon jeans...) but they are so.pretty.

the jumper and apparently I am a versatile blogger??

My ASOS order came on monday this week and I absolutely love it. these are what I bought:

ASOS Aggie boots

heart tights

cream aran jumper

The Aggie boots is gorgeous and comfortable despite of the 8.5cm heels. I don't even notice the heels when I wear it, feels more like a 5cm-er for me. the colour is exactly the same as pictured. the cream jumper is nice and comfortable too despite of having a little loose knit on the arm (so it looks like a mini hole). I thought that it's going to be a thin jumper but it is quite thick and cozy.

I didn't think that the cream jumper is a 'basic' but then realised that they may be more versatile than the grey pullover that I planned to buy. made this polyvore as a reminder just in case if im having a moment of 'idonnowhattowearwithmyjumper'

Can you believe that summer is going to end in.. 2 days? What a crappy summer we've had in Sydney this year. I'm glad that there's no cyclone this year though - happy that bananas are not going to be priced at $12 per kg anytime soon! I'm also glad that I didnt buy any new swimmers this season as I've only gone to the beach twice this summer (yeah it's that bad).

Mostly A.P.C. Will be very nice if I can afford them but at my budget, spending $300 on a cardi seems a bit (a lot) much. I think I'm just gonna go for a mid range ones ie Country Road (I heard they're decent). I already have most of the above :

• cardis in mustard, red, and grey, all zara- I find their $30 cardis really good. I've had my red one for 6 months or more now and it looks as good as new.
• my wittner thigh boots.
• Trench coat from 2 years ago (TEMT $50!! such good value.)
• I have a white pussybow blouse from ASOS but would like to buy more of them. in other colours preferably. maybe black...
• Denims - I'm not really the biggest fan. I only have 2 pairs, both Sass and Bide, one is a lighter wash skinny and the other is boyfriend fit, darker wash. I think I won't buy any jeans for a while. I'll probably buy a black jeans from Cheap Monday or something, if they have good deals, but I am a bit reluctant because they fade like shiz.

Now the only things that I can buy:

• Blue pencil skirt
• Red skirt.. in pencil or skater.
• Black leather look skirt.
• ankle boots- preferably Isabel Marant-esque. The real one are gorgeous but I've found many similar looking boots thats 1/5 of its price, so I guess I'm going to just buy the copy. I'm sure the quality if the IM boots wont be that much better.
• Maybe a watch. I'm liking this Michael Kors Rose Gold watch but they are sold out everywhere.

and that's all I can buy throughout autumn.

Anyway... I moved from my dodgy little room in our (me+cousin+his gf and some other apartment mates) apartment to a not-so-dodgy, nicer bedroom. so YAY! Though during the move I realize that I still have a crap load of stuff even after my ruthless cull last monday, which gave Vinnies some good 2 trash bag full of clothes... I'll do another cull maybe next week... but I don't know where to start because I love them all.

anyway enough of the rambles here- I should do something productive now... like looking for a new job or something... but considering the recent contraction of jobs in my field I'm not hoping for much. Its not like I'm desperately looking... I don't mind my job but don't love it.. you know the feeling. I'm much busier than a year ago when I just started but I find myself still craving for more challenges.
