come away with me

Bejeeesuss, blogging regularly is hard. I do have a reason why I'm off for a while from my blog though. Its because...

I was off to the Gold Coast!! Australia's biggest playground! Australia's Jersey Shore!! That's me and a friend being the typical AZN tourist there. 

This was 2 weeks ago. I went with the Mr and also with the bestie and also her Mr. We planned this trip 1-2 months earlier and almost didn't make it due to you know, the general risk related to trip-ping with another couple. But everything turns out ok except the weather. It was gloomy and sprinkling for all the 3 days we were there *tears :'(

Went to visit this little guy in Sea World, they are amazing. Looks exactly like how they look in Happy Feet!

We also went to Movie World but I didn't take much picture there - too busy riding on stomach-churning rides. My favourite was the Arkham Asylum (at the back). I missed out on the Superman ride; I heard its really good but the line was frigging 90 minutes!! so screw that. 

Other than that I don't do much given that we're only there for 3 days 2 nights. Ate some pretty weird rice burgers which is basically just like eating rice and chicken teriyaki.. 

Moving on... so the big news in the past month is that.. I got a new job! horray. I wasn't really looking but got lucky. An agent that I've been talking to the past 3 months or so called me out of nowhere about a job and wants me to see the manager in (future employer here).. at 730am!! 7.30AM!!! So I went to say hey, without hoping much, but they end up hiring me by lunch time. So it was tres awesome. 

Leaving my current work place will be sad. I love the people here so so much, but the travel is just painful (1.5hrs one way). My new place will be only 20 minutes away by bus, so it will be epic. Also, the role will be a bit different, so I thought that it will be good for me to try on something different and see if I like it. 

Anyway, here comes the 'outfit post':

  

I bought this mirror/jewellery holder in Target a month ago or so- they are epic.  

This dress was $16 in Chica booti LOL. I was so happy when I found it.

What I wore on my trek to Daiso Chatswood on the weekend. more on that later.

I can't believe that I have never tried Ben and Jerry's ice cream until last Saturday. Those things are epic. My favourite so far is the chocolate brownie flavour. YUMMMMMMM. 

I received these yesterday from iHerb- Microdermabrasion (damn isn't that hard to spell!)scrub by Derna e and also travel essentials kit from Real Techniques. Review coming up sometime soon...

Well there you go!! I made a post!! woohoo!

Last weeeekenddddd

I love fried chicken. I was craving for a bowl of these Korean style fried chicken with soy sauce last Friday so I went to grab some from Arisun in Sydney's Haymarket. They are truly awesome. I would go as far as saying that they are as delicious as the KFC variety. The boy thinks that KFC is more epic though. We had these with a bowl of slimey Korean black sauce noodle.. not too sure what it's called.. jjangmyun??? Korean experts please help me here. Anyway I'm not the biggest fan; I hated the instant noodle version of these but this one is Arisun is quite ok for me. Conclusion for my meal in Arisun: definitely get the fried chicken, after all these are what made them famous. The other Korean menu are ok too but they don't give enough side dishes (only kimchi). Price is not too bad but they are a bit more expensive than the other Korean restaurants. 

Mr Australia Bear took a bath along my laundry on Saturday. My dad bought me this bear on his business trip here ages ago, before I moved to Sydney, and I brought it along with me when I move here.  Anyway on Saturday I went for a friends birthday but the pictures there is not blog-worthy (too full of drunkard geeks)

Pretty flowers on my backyard. I love spring. Love it love it love it. How vibrant are the colours?

Do you know just how hard it is to take picture of your feet? I saw a lot of instagrammers/bloggers doing this. You actually have to lean forward a lot to take picture of your feet without your dress getting on the way. My dress is still blocking the way. The sandals are from ASOS btw

 Me and the Mr went for a drive after we went to the city for his work (no he's not that sort of workholic or corporate slave). I thought we should go to Watsons Bay but we wandered to Vaucluse and stopped on one road because we saw a couple with beach gears walking into a public but gated road. I found out that the property name is 'Carrara house' (sorry if I spell it wrong) and behind that there's the Milk beach which is gorgeous. You can see the city from here.

Yeah like that. The angle of this view makes it looks like I'm in Mosman in-the-other-side-of-the-bridge. Oh and hey there's my feet again.

                                     

Oh hey its me again. Not exactly in beachwear. Excuse me for being pale. Can't wait to get the summer glow again.

 We also stopped at Vaucluse house. Its quite pretty, but not as pretty as I expected. Maybe because its gardens is not in full bloom as yet?

I mentioned that I went to the city before Vaucluse. We went to Broadway and bought this baby from the almighty Tar-jay for $79 in their big home sale.Pretty sure that's in OK value. I LOVE IT. I didn't realise that I have that much jewels though. 

 

First selfie via the new mirror.  I wear a trench coat with this outfit on Monday. To think about it the bag doesn't really match the dress but it looks good with the trench.

A spare ribs with rice dish from a local Chinese restaurant named 'Delicious Chinese Cuisine'. They are not that delicious. I could have spent the BF's $8 on a much better Thai nearby. From these day on I shall be suspicious to restaurants that uses 'delicious' 'yummy' or whatever on their name.

Spring is here! Nothing makes me happier than a good day where the sky is blue and the shine is shining. It's not quite summer yet but you can feel the warmth in the air. The flowers around my neighbourhood have started blooming. Flanellete pijamas are already packed and flimsy shorts and tees are out. I'm heading to the G-C in 22 days to get a head start and I just can't wait; a holiday is long overdue! I feel like I missed out so much stuff last summer due to the rain and all, so this year I'm going to go make the most out of summer. I have so many things that I want to do but sadly can only do it on weekends (first world white collar problem)  and most of the times I forgot what I want to do on the weekend that I can actually do it, if that makes sense. 

I'm gonna list out what I want to do this summer here so that I remember, and hey maybe give you some inspiration too:

• Don't buy too much summer dresses. I know they are cute but they are likely to be out-of-fashion next summer. Florals are ok though because they're gonna stick around in spring/summer for the next 100 years.
• Wear ankle boots with dresses
• Wear a huge hat for extra sun protection and extra chic-ness
• Eat ridiculous amount of fruit. Peaches, nectarines, grapes, mangoes, strawberries, blueberries.. the list is endless. 
• Drink ridiculous amount of water.
• Do a lot of up-dos. I used to cut my hair for summer but I find it easier to keep your hair off your face when you have longer hair - up do's are the way to go!
• Go to the other bath in Coogee Beach.. 
• Go swim in the Bondi Iceberg
• Cancel gym membership and buy bulk passes to pools.. yes yes I know I'm not a good healthy girl but indoor training is not my thing.. My mom got me to a swimming squad when I was very little. At that time I hated it so much that I never go to a pool for a good 6 years until last year when I started swimming again. It is now my main choice of work out :)
•  Buy a boogie board (I know surf board are cooler but I'm crap at it so..)
• Go to Luna Park. The mr asked me to go 4 years ago but that never happens. This summer I should really really go.
• Do picnic dates with my girl friends
• Go to Hunter Valley. I always go there during winter so I want to check out what they look like in summer.

I am so ready for summer. Bring it on!!

Sunshinery

 If you have been coming to my blog in the couple of days, you may notice that my blog name have changed from frauelize to fab-a-thon and now Sunshinery. I just don't like the first two and hopefully I can settle on 'Sunshinery' for a while.

All pictures taken by my love in Hunter Valley a year ago. We're so excited that it's Spring now - time to crack out the sundresses and go to road trips!! are you excited too? x

Black magic

So last week my trusted wallet gave up on life. The coin zipper snapped and for some good hour I thought, 'its fine, its fine, I can still use it' but now I have come to terms that I do need a new wallet. I am not a bag/wallet lady - especially wallets, because I think they look all the same - so the idea of shopping for a new wallet just turns me off... but after a couple of minutes of digging through the net, I found the wallet that I want in YSL Belle Du Jour in black, as pictured above. I love how it is so simple but oh-so luxurious. no big fat label logo prints necessary. The price tag will definitely hurt, considering that I'm a cheap arse and its quite a stack of dollar for such a small thing, but this wallet is going to pay itself if I use it everyday for the next 2 years, which is more than likely.

Now off to find somewhere that stocks this baby..

BB creams: Garnier oil free vs Missha

I was introduced to BB cream around 2 years ago by a beauty-nut housemate. I remember that my first ever BB cream was the Skin79 Gold that I bought from eBay (under pressure of the housemate of the time). I quite like the Skin79 but I find it too 'white' for my skin so I did not repurchase.BB cream has become more mainstream now since Garnier starts producing it half a year ago or so. I didn't buy their first one because at that time I still have my Borjouis foundation, but I got intrigued and bought the oil-free version when they released it a couple of months ago. I also ordered Missha's BB cream after reading good reviews in the net via ebay at almost at the same time.

How pink is my hand??? I guess you can see from the above picture that Garnier is more watery than Missha. The colour is also so different; Missha's much more lighter and can I say grey-ish whilst Garnier's a bit more tan. I've used both of this and here's my opinion in dot points:

• Both of them blends well on my skin, but Missha's a bit too 'white' and bright on me.  Missha's just as brightening as Skin79 and it does make your skin looks dewy like those Korean actresses. I guess that's the point of using BB cream.. As it is still winter now and I am still pale as, Missha's still usable but I don't think I will use it in summer as it will make me look like a ghost... 
• Garnier BB cream fits my skin tone better. It also has great coverage, but I don't think it makes the skin looks as 'dewy' as Missha's.  I love how quick Garnier's BB cream absorbs to my skin. I'll definitely keep using this throughout summer. 
• As I have mentioned, Missha's also thicker than Garnier, so it is more moisturising (is that a word?) than Garnier. It also takes a bit longer to absorb to my skin compared to Garnier.

Conclusion: I like both, but definitely Missha for Winter for extra moisture and Garnier in summer because it's much lighter than Missha (and the colour fits tanned skin better)

So there's my first ever review! (I think) have anyone else used these BB creams - what do you think??
